all the rose parade-related stuff was awesome. i have many bruises on my left leg now (my battle scars from marching with a surdo for 5.5 miles, but hey, i wanted to play it! :)), and i'm pretty sore (especially my left bicep from holding my surdo up for about 2 hours straight). but it was all worth it.... such a fun experience!

for the last 10 days, at least one person in my household has been sick with either a cold or a stomach flu. my dad had the bug last week, then, mike got a head cold, then mia tossed her cookies all saturday night/sunday morning, then mike started barfing and i had a bad stomach-ache all day sunday, then maurissa got a bad stomach-ache/the runs, then i got sick yesterday (while mia threw up again last night and now has double ear infection, completely separate from everything else going around), and this morning my mom caught the stomach bug...............between everyone getting sick, some of the christmas stuff got put off. no gingerbread house this year, and i, as of now, don't have gifts for dad and mia. oh well, i guess that's life. that's what i get for waiting until the last minute, but still. perhaps i can give them I.O.U.s............unless i try to attempt a last-minute shopping dash tonight....we'll see how my body's feeling...
